Akani

Together for a better future

Giving back...

Claudia Schnell lives and works as a ranger, deeply connected to the land, wildlife, and people of South Africa.

Founding her Non-Profit Organization AkaAni NPC in 2019 is her way of giving back -to support underprivileged communities, empower women and youth through needed education programs, and contribute to conservation efforts.

For Claudia, Akani is not just a project; it’s a heartfelt commitment to a country that has given her so much.

Our Focus

...to support local communities

Uplifting the vulnerable

Rethabile Disabled Center is a school and daycare-center for children and youth with cerebral palsy and other disabilities. Aka'Ani has supported the women and children since 2016 with supplies, food, and hands-on help.

Education for women & youth

Digital skills are crucial for a successful future of the young generation. Akani offers young people the opportunity to develop their skills outside of school in our computer program – voluntarily and in their free time.

Conservation & Animal wellfare

It all comes full circle:
When we empower communities and invest in education, people gain a deeper understanding of nature’s value.

And when people understand, they protect wildlife & domestic animals for their own future and for the future of their kind and children.

Live and in color...

Together with friends in South Africa and Germany, we founded AKANI SÜDAFRIKA e.V. (Germany) and Aka Ani NPC (South Africa) with one shared mission: to support disadvantaged people - especially children with disabilities - in the area around Kruger National Park.
